Arnold Palmer Regional Airport

Tiny airport close to Pittsburgh, in the region of Latrobe. There’s only one big commercial airline company flying in and out of here, which is Spirit, and I believe it only flies to a few cities in Florida. There’s some sitting area for people waiting for their loved ones. If you’re hungry, there’s only one restaurant inside the facility and no convenience shop—at least I didn’t find any. Parking is free except for long term.

This is my son's favorite airport. I don't fly, but I have been here a few times when my son goes on a trip and doesn't leave his car at the airport. I don't mind the drive to this airport at all. It's not the crazy madness you find at most airports. There's plenty of parking, a prompt shuttle van and all the airport personnel I've dealt with are very friendly and helpful. The airport and bathrooms are clean and tidy and there's just a much more relaxed atmosphere than any other airport I have visited.

If I could do negative stars I would!! I lived in Latrobe my entire life!! I move to Florida 9 years ago and fly back and forth often. I have used the same under the seat suitcase for years, and then one day they told me that it is too big. They were and are very mean and bullies!! I had to pay $100...I wrote to spirit and sent pictures of my suitcase with the measuring tape for all the dimensions. They apologized and refunded me. EVERY single time my family and I go through that airport we see so many people getting "bullied" I am all for rules, I follow every rule where I go. But they are incredibly mean!! I have never seen anything like it. I am a business manager in Florida for several offices and have never seen customer service like them!! They literally enjoy harassing people!! My daughter has anxiety every time we are there that we are going to get "yelled" at. That is horrible!!!! When I got on here to write a review, there are countless reviews like mine which amazes me that obviously nothing is ever done about it!!!! I will be flying in and out of Pittsburgh moving forward due to the horrible staff at Arnold Palmer Airport. It is worth the hour drive to be treated like human beings!!

I typically love flying out of this airport compared to Pittsburgh. It’s close to home, free parking, great restaurant. However, today, on Christmas Day they decided to harass everyone getting on the plane. They allowed everyone to pay $90 for carry on bags and go through TSA and then right before boarding, while standing in line to get on the plane, they make every single person put their carry on in this bin to check its size (even children with tiny little baby roller bags). If your bag didn’t fit perfectly on its size, you then had to pay an additional $100 to get it checked. I’ve had my carry on for 6 years and Ive flown all over the country with this. I fly multiple times a year into and out of airports everywhere. This is the biggest scam I’ve ever heard of. Finally figured out why the tickets were so cheap to fly on Christmas; they make it up by scamming you before you board the plane. Most people are now out $190 for a carry-on, on Christmas Day. I’ve never in my life been harassed or seen passengers harassed this badly in an airport in my life. Honestly makes me sick. If this was a policy they were enforcing then tell people before they pay for the carry on and go through tsa so they just pay for a checked bag in the first place. It’s a 1 plane airport. With 1 lane tsa, you could easily inform people. But the point was to scam and harass, not for safety purposes. Merry Christmas lol
